Kiev 4a rewind button missing

I've acquired a Kiev 4a from 1968. The button on the bottom that you push to allow you to rewind the film is not all there.
It just seems to be missing the silver cap, the black plastic post is there. I have film in it right now, so I'll check to see if it's functional and I can rewind it tomorrow or so.
My questions are:
Does it matter?
Can it be fixed easily?
Would a new back solve the problem?
Possible light leak?

It might matter, unfortunately. The button is a cover for the hole, without it you could indeed get light leaking where it's not wanted. The release will also be awkward to access. However, there's a plastic piece inside the back that protrudes, if that's still present and literally only the button is missing you're probably ok.

If you changed the back, that would solve it since the button is part of same.

The plastic piece that protrudes is still there, so fingers crossed. I've also ordered a back, so I'll give that a try as well
