I like my new Kiev 4am with the H-103 lens. The "Contax grip" is easy to commit to muscle memory. The only thing that bugs me is how the focus locks at infinity, so one has to press the little tab behind the focusing wheel to release it.

My question is, can the infinity lock be disabled?

yeah it is a bit of a hassle, however like the grip you will get used to it, i have a left hand finger ready to unlock, after a couple of rolls it becomes second nature. Also remember that when changing lens you need to set all at infinity so it becomes usefull at this point

I did it this way. Not my idea, found it somewhere in the net. The little piece of wood is easy to remove when I use the J-12, but very hepful with the J-8.

There is a pin nearby the lens mount which moves with the infinity lock, you can carefully put a match between it and the lens mount. Lock disabled ;)

ha thats what happens with a two year old on your lap
Great solution, i`m gonna do it, much smarter than taping down the top release

A stubby piece of plastic tubing of a suitable size, pushed over the pin, works too. The lock does come in handy when removing a lens but I agree it's anoying the rest of the time!
