Finally got my hands on a Kiev...
They're actually fairly hard to find here in New Zealand, or perhaps folk are just loath to give them up..? Anyway, recently won an auction for a 4m/J8 on our local ebay (trademe.co.nz). I can't believe I haven't owned one of these before as have owned at one time or another most of the Zorki and Fed models... It's a late model (1981) so is not without it's issues (dud meter) but it's in great condition and a joy to use. I want another- an earlier model with a Helios
Anyway, thought I'd share some of the shots off the test roll.... They're off my blog Really enjoying shooting with this camera, but must admit for the most part am not using the "Contax grip"- I gather I'm not the only one who can't get used to it...

I like no. 1 - makes you wonder what she is up to.
Jupiter 8 is a good lens, but Helios is outstanding, you are going to like it when you get one.
Happy shooting

They must all be in the UK
Some very nice photos there, Kapa. I like the Kiev 4an also and here's a couple of Jupiter 8M 2/50 shots - apologies 'cos these have been posted before.

Thanks for reminding me because I've been a member of trademe.co.nz for a while, I shall have a look in.

recommended seller? none that i have used enough to recommend[moscow photo has been good]
Looks like you are close to Phil Jacobs who may come in use if you get a dud from Ukraine.

I can vouch for that. I bought a lens from moscowphoto, and while it arrived with the wrong lens registration (it was a pre-war collapsible I-10 - my mistake), Mika was very helpful and sent me a perfectly working replacement I-22. But, as always, YMMV.recommended seller? none that i have used enough to recommend[moscow photo has been good]

Nice photos! I just love my kiev, with all it's quirks. Sadly it is now lying on the table waiting for the parts, can't wait to use it again.
