Has anyone noticed that older Kievs are becoming more expensive at over £120 ?

They are simply checked over and will need CLA - the gap twix buying a Contax needing fixing or a pre-55 Kiev seems to be closing rapidly .

Some months ago , I bought a £140 with shipping , Kiev 2 , CLA by alex-photo's '' hand master '' and it is beutifully quiet and smooth , but the lens has not been touched and is stiff ,lovely used patina though .
What did not show in the pics is a bad , seemingly recent , scrape along the top edge of the fascia ... but it's mine now !
If I have Mike Hayley sort it for me ... it make it about MORE than my CLA Contax III and Sonnar !!!

OOPS !

Yeah, I noticed that as well - on ebay, mostly.
the Russian sellers are really jacking up their prices.
I was thinking of eventually picking up a Kiev 2, but I think I'll just wait a while and save up for a Contax II or III.

let's not fool ourswelves it's RFF that's responsible for that. ( a quantum of irony)
You post some threads about the Zorki 3 and up it goes. I've already seen Zorki 4's with engraved frontplates going for twice the price of the later ones.
Pity that if it continues the Kievs will become collectibles as people will be afraid to use them.

More people are discovering these classic gems, esoecially the older kiev 2 and 3 's I love mine and the finish is almost as good as my Contax's so up goes the prices!

I guess Kiev 4s wil remain sensible - but earler camera sources must be drying up - I did not dee'scover Kiev until later , so I have inevitably hit the rise in demand and prices .
