Hi,
I bought a ZOMZ Kiev mount J-3 recently for a rather high price ($90). :bang: The lens is in excellent condition, and was made in 1973. Princelle says it is a rather rare lens, and the LTM ZOMZ J-3 is uncommon. I have both versions now. Is it a rare lens?
I noted that the coating colour is different from earlier versions of J-3s. I assume it will have better colour reproduction for colour prints. Has anyone used this lens, and what is your impression?
Cheers,
Zhang

I see a lot of Zomz and Belomo Kiev J-3s for sale, but mostly mid 1950s to early 1960s models.
KMZ and Valadai J-3s for Kiev are much less common.

Thanks. I have a very early KMZ J-3(52xxxxx), and two very often seen Optek J-3s. Is this the Belomo J-3?

Hello, I've got a 1970 J-3 which comes from ZOMZ. According to the few data I've gathered on the Russian Lens Database Project, most of the lenses were produced at ZOMZ after 1960, while early models were mainly produced by KMZ. This data applies indifferently to lenses made either in LTM or Contax mount.
I'm always interested in gathering more data to expand the list
Cheers,
Max

Again, there were no BelOMO Jupiters. It is all about confusing factory logos
