A few weeks ago I was leading an FSU-free life.

For reasons that remain unclear, although a combination of eBay and gin & tonic may be partly to blame; I am now the bewildered owner of a Kiev 4 and 4A (1970 and 1960) and have a 1950 Kiev 2 on the way; plus a selection of broken bodies to practice on. Suddenly, a new hobby!
Bought from Grizzlybear, Fedka and Moscow Photo based on recommendations here and they have all been good so far.
The reason for this post, other than to announce my membership of the crazy club, is to ask what adapter you would recommend to use these lenses on a micro four thirds camera. I have used Kippon for Contax G lenses but not sure which is best for this Contax mount.
Any guidance welcome. Thanks.

"For reasons that remain unclear, ... "
*chokes back laughter* ... Yep. All too familiar words there. We've found it's easier to just go with it ... as opposed to sorting it out to a reasonable justification. Just go with it. :D :D

Welcome to the forum & to the Wonderful World of FSUs. You've got a couple of nice looking Knebs there ... and the soon coming Kiev.2 ... nice. Can't help with the adapter quest, but I'm sure someone around here can.

enjoy!

Both cameras appear to be functional; even the light meter works on the 4; albeit with inadequate readings in all but good light.

I put a film through the 4 yesterday. Photos looked OK (ignore the quality of the scan, I need a new scanner). but there is a light leak on some of the shots as in the example below. These only happened when shooting in Landscape mode; which is when my fingers were gripping the back of the camera; so I am hoping this is just a leak from the back panel joint. Will try with some tape first to see if that solves the problem.

The 4A has a very tight rewind knob, so that will be my first attempt at wielding a screwdriver.

My Kiev 2 should arrive today or tomorrow. Paid more than I should for that; but my wife had just bought a handbag on eBay for a similar price; and a 62 year old camera is a much better investment; at least that is what I told her....

To answer my own original question, Attila on eBay sells adapters for M43 and Sony NEX: http://bit.ly/NcVI41
Built from a discarded Kiev body, and provided with a "free" Jupiter 8 lens (which was presumably on the donor camera).
My order was despatched through Hungarian post who managed to lose it (tracking did not get beyond initial processing). Attila immediately arranged a replacement which arrived safely today; good service and the adapter seems to work very well.
Now I can go and test out my little collection of lenses (four so far) on my M43 and decide which is best for using with my Kievs. Plus they look very cool stuck on a GX1.
