I just bought a Kiev Turrent Finder to use on my M3... is it going to be totally off, for parallax ?? I’m planning on using the 35mm setting, for my canon 35/2 and also my Rocker 40/2.... Also, I wear eyeglasses - does anyone know a solution to not get my lenses scratched up? If anybody has experience on this combo of viewfinder/body, I’d appreciate the help.

Thanks

it shouldn't be too bad, as it works on the Kiev II (no meter), as well as the Kiev III (meter box on top). So, the difference in top heights shouldn't be too much of a problem at 1m.

I'm not sure what you'd gain by putting this big finder on an M3. You already have most of the framelines in the camera. You're only gaining the 35mm and 28mm frames.

But, since you have the Kiev finder, you may as well embrace the dark side. I just bought a Kiev IIa from fedka, and it's absolutely great fun at low prices.

Kiev and Zorki universal viewfinders are different on is it to the left or to the right. But, with any external viewfinder you are going to be screwed, more less.
For glasses and 35/40 mm lens it was better to get just 35mm FSU VF, plastic version.
Turret one is with sharp metal edges, better get some leather belt, cut and drill little piece to glue around VF back ring.
Rokkor 40 works OK without any external VF on M3, btw.

I find a pair of O rings, one a tight fit on the finder rim and a second, bigger one glued to the first (and NOT the finder) works beautifully in protecting my specs/giving a good view through the thing
