My F6 has the best meter and I've got a good range of lenses, but my MP with a small incident meter is more portable. I'd shoot my TC-1 but I don't want to be restricted to 28/3.5. Maybe I should just buy more Kodachrome![]()

Interesting(ish) story about that. A couple years ago, i was in the darkroom, listening to an oldies station, and Kodachrome came on the radio. Being a big Paul Simon fan (not to be pedantic, but it was Simon solo, not with Garfunkel), I was definitely rocking out like an idiot, probably over-agitating my prints. Anyway, after the song, the DJ starts talking about how much he likes the song, and mentions the line as "I've got an Ikon camera" instead of "I've got a Nikon camera." Considering this reasonably plausible, as soon as I got the print in the fix, I rushed out of the darkroom, checked on Lyricwiki, and it confirmed that the line is a Nikon instead of an Ikon. I called the DJ, and he had been hearing it wrong all these years because his father shot with an old Ikon.

F6 vs MP is a very difficult call. What sorts of subjects do you tend to have the best luck with?
I'm hoping to get some photos of the kids: nostalgia.

... likes film again.
I had one of my last KR-64 rolls (still have 6 or so in the freezer) loaded in my M7, when the shutter jammed.... :bang: On the other hand the photo I took while the shutter jammed looks quite interesting.
The final rolls I will use to shoot some more photos of the town where I live right now because I will have to move sometime soon. However, the camera won't matter ...

Merkin,
thanks for the story! I just wrote that easily - you're sure right with Paul Simon. I remember the solo, I think.

The nikon F6 got it. Reason: the SB 600 flash, the 105/2.5 and the 20/3.5

I still have 20-25 rolls in the freezer.
F6? At least it will be metered dead on.

M-3 or M-4 with a rigid Summicron late in the day. The Summicron has just the right contrast curve. With Kodachrome 64, the appropriate subjects: railcars and train stations and feed stores and farm supply stores and small town life (if it still exists), like Walker Evans shot in his Kodachrome slide phase.
I have a dozen rolls of Kodachrome 200 left which I'll shoot at night, under florescent light, and sodium vapor street light -- or the sky lit Ferry Building Market, where the magenta cast will be forgiven. Fruit stand displays, spools of thread in tailors' shops, and shady characters would be good K200 subjects.

Well, I've already shot my last rolls of Kodachrome, sadly. I know it's still there, and I'd like to shoot more, but from the UK we have to send them to Kodak Switzerland, from where they're sent on to Dwayne's, and then the reverse journey - it can easily take a month.
Anyway, I shot my last rolls in my M6, but that's really because I was using the camera/lenses I wanted for that particular shooting (one of my spells in Thailand).
If I had one roll left now, I'd probably either do something mad with it and shoot it in my Argus brick (there's be some poor exposures, but it would be memorable), or I'd sensibly take my time and try to get as many 'keepers' as possible by shooting it in my Olympus OM-4T, as that has very good spot metering.

I know what you mean Alan. I keep thinking should I get another roll whilst Boots still have the offer on. Mine has never taken a month but it does take over 2 weeks sometimes. Its the going to the post office and queing up to post the thing that does for me.So much better if it were prepaid and you could just pop it in a post box.

Hmm, yeah, you've got me wanting to give it one last go again now.I keep thinking should I get another roll whilst Boots still have the offer on.
One other problem, now that I'm using a film/scan workflow, is that Kodachrome doesn't scan well with my Epson V700. I get a slight Magenta cast, which I don't get with any other slide film, and which is not there on the slide when viewed directly - and I can't compensate for it in the scanner settings, because it's variable from shot to shot. I can adjust it afterwards easily enough, one shot at a time, but that additional work is a pain.
But still, maybe one last go is on the cards
Cheers,
