Down in the cellar I have a box about 2'x2'x2'. Yes, it is full of mostly Kodachrome from "back in the day." They are protected from humidity and temperature swings and hungry mice. Some from a wonderful trip through HK and PRC in '88. And just all I shot from the Vito II in '53 until the DSC S70 Sony in 2000. That's a lot of images unseen, along with all the love letters I sent my ex-wife which may stay unread. They do chronicle my tour with the Army in France mostly.
But for all the old Kodachrome shooters and the M-9 shooters:

@boojum Have you, or do you plan to, scan all that Kodachrome? And the unread letters to your ex wife? I feel that it would be well worth the memory trip to scan it all, and see how much things have changed, and how you feel in retrospect. I've just spent a couple of days looking at photos and video from 11-12 years ago, 2013 and 2014, and it's a constant pleasure to find things I'd forgotten.

A lot of the slides are from '62 to'64 when I was stationed out in the countryside of France with the US Army. I'd like to see them again. I have read some of the letters. They are fun recounting of my day-to-day life in the Army. It was a great 2 1/2 years. A dream tour. There is one fellow from the post still alive and I am in touch with him. He did 20 years in the Army hoping to get another post as good as that one but never did. It was just super. I was so lucky.
I'll have to find a slide viewer. Know any good ones??

@boojum Can't help you with the slide viewer, but a search brought up this article:

I guess it depends on what you want from a slide viewer. When I think of people enjoying the past with old slides, I sometimes think of this scene from Minority Report:
I was just wondering what made that 2.5 years in France so much fun!
