I think it is a nice read, I especially liked the reference to viewing a Kodachrome slide being akin to looking at a stain glass window:

There's my Proctor-Silex!
Sad, very sad.
I am still trying to figure out what to do with my last few rolls of Kodachrome 25 from my freezer.
I also have a few 64 and 200 speed rolls.

It will be sad when it is really gone for good. A couple years ago, a dear friend of mine died of Cancer at age 38. About 5 months before she passed away, we had a barbeque at her friends home. We all had a wonderful time with her, she was very happy and so were we.
We were not sad when she was with us, alive, smiling.
I shot a couple rolls of Kodachrome last night, it is alive, it is not sad.
It is one of those opportunities that stop you in your path, you make time for it, you make it a priority....much like I did when my dear friend Christine enjoyed our company.
There is a life lesson in this project of mine, Seize the Day and live like there is no tomorrow, because things can and do change....always.

I started another thread about this, but for the life of me I can't find it ... maybe it didn't post.
Anyway, I'm the commentor on The Star (it's my "default" online paper, and I bought a hard copy today) who said he was going to shoot up ... ... at Lake Superior.

We're all light!
A very well-written piece.
Now...where to buy more of this wonderful stuff...the Usual Suspects in town don't have any, which I presume is the result of a "run on the bank." Freestyle doesn't even list it anymore (at least online). Hope this doesn't lead to the equivalent of Toyota dealers cashing in on clamoring demand for the Prius...
I've got a local joint that might have some, but the price? Don't wanna think about it...

I just stored 10 rolls of K64 - probably my last ones. I bought them online here in Germany (about 20€ each).
It's just the last act of a long announced death. If more people had BOUGHT (and used) Kodachrome in the last couple of years, they wouldn't had closed the Swiss Kodachrome lab either. Of course the Kodachrome lab process is expensive and need some numbers to bring some profit.

At the very least make sure you have a drink with Nando and myself on the way through the Soo!
As I've mentioned in other threads, I am saving my last 4 rolls for Newfoundland and possibly Sainte Pierre this summer. Should be great.

Oh, I will stop in the Soo and prepare with the proper lubricant! I know Nando is not much into "roughing" it, or I would entice him to come along and be my bearer, er, have fun with me.
As for getting more film, I think I am just going to fill out the order form from Dwayne's, send it in and have them ship it if and when their backorder is fulfilled. The other option, obviously, is to actually go to "The Kodak Store" on Ridge Road and order it in there. I think I need an employee number, so I'll take my father-in-law with me.
Whichever works first, I'll cancel the other order.

During the past 30 years Kodachrome was the film I went to document important occasions. I have stacks of K64/200 slides on my shelves.
