FYI - Central Camera in Chicago has K64
$15+ per roll $11 for developing at Dwayne's
I was tempted for nostalgic reasons
but at about $0.75 per shot, it's getting pricey
I got 6 rolls of B&W instead

Yes, Kodachrome is significantly more per frame than is plain old C41.

Just this guy, you know?
Or even E-6, although only twice as much as Provia 400 X

I don't understand the angst over the price. If one wants/needs to shoot it, the price is the price, and yes because of its demise dealers are gouging, but that can't be changed. Unless maybe haggling works. It's a very special film, with no equivalent. When it (and the processing) is gone, it's gone. I think some folks may end up saying "I wish I had just bought some."

There will never be another chance to use Kodachrome.
Buy at least three rolls - one as a test-and-experiment (assuming that you haven't used it before), then the other two for something special that you have been thinking of but not quite managed. Use this as a stimulus for yourself. (Sounds a bit pompous, sorry about that).

Time is running out on Kodachrome!

Yes, this is a truly special film that has no equal. It is the most archival of all color films. The skin tones are perfect, the reds are amazing, the blacks are deep and dark, the color palette is just beautiful. Each slide is a gem of color!
Buy and shoot some before it is gone forever! I bought a bunch and I am shooting a few rolls a week until I run out. I will look back in a few years and be glad I shot some while I had the chance.
