Kodachrome new Netflix Movie

Processing my last Kodachrome wasn't nearly so interesting. Of course, I just mailed mine. I hope Dwayne's benefits from the exposure (so to speak).

did someone watch the movie? how is it? no spoilers pls :)

How weird, I literally just finished watching it and this was at the top of the RFF recent topics.

Yeah I enjoyed it. Some good quotes for photographers in there.

The plot is fairly obvious, and I realised how it was going to end within about 20 minutes, but even so it's a decent watch.

I saw it last night in NY in a theater. Good movie.

The Leica actually belongs to Ed Harris. He took photographs throughout the filming and gave them to cast and crew at the wrap party.

The movie is not bad, for sure. A bit formulaic in parts, but Ed Harris is a national treasure and he acts the hell out of this role. He is, by far, the best part.

spoiler post don't read any further**

Pretty predictable movie. I wish there was a little more leica stuff. I was a little shocked to see him shooting kodak gold but I guess the canister is so non descript that it makes for a good prop.

I found the scene of them taking him away incredibly cheesy.

still though, great coverage for film and I hope that it inspires some more people to pick up a camera.

it's showing in theaters in select cities for those that want to see it on the big screen. fortunately i'm in one of those "big" cities".

I suffered through the first 20 minutes, ended up fast forwarding to the slide show at the end credits.

Ed Harris is always worth a watch. That said, not a great movie. Typical Hollywood family tension movie with the ending pretty much exposing itself at the beginning... Only sort of a spoiler.

The trailer I watched pretty much outlined the plot as being typical Hollywood. Take the title away and the underlying film theme and we wouldn't notice it.

I watched it today on NETFLIX
I enjoyed it for what it is - entertainment
Ed Harris did treat the camera as if it was his very own - as has been posted on many threads here at RFF, many actors are Leica users / owners.

My apologies for those who look forward to it. It was a depressing movie, imho. I cannot recommend it except for those curious as to how the "romantic notion of Kodachrome" actually fits in. YMMV.
