Kodachrome source?

I mostly shoot B&W, but I have a Kodak slide projector that belonged to my wife's late father. I'd like to put it to some use. I haven't shot Kodachrome for 30(?) years, and was wondering if anyone knew of a reliable source for it.

i bought 100 rolls from KM25(forum member) here a few months ago. i think he said it expired in 2006. i've used about 20 rolls of it and it came out fine.
i'll sell you a few rolls for what i paid if you want to try it out for $2 a roll.

edit--i've received a few emails asking if i have any more k64 to sell, but i have sold as many rolls as i can. sorry...

Thanks, guys. I've always understood that the "Pro" films were just kept cold (and fresher), and I was just wondering if this was also the case with Kodachrome.
 
I use Dwayne's - we need to do our best to keep them and our only processing outlet healthy! Their prices are good, and I'd even pay a slight premium even if they weren't.

The chemistry and thus the longevity of the pro vs consumer version should be the same given equal storage environments. The pro version has a lot more quality control applied to each emulsion which is what you are paying for. Unless it's mission cricital and a lot of money or your reputation are really on the line, I'd go with the consumer version.
 
Thanks, Samuel. Even though I understand that some have had good luck taking their film to Costco/Walmart, which I believe snds it to Waynes, I would rather not risk it and just send it directly to Dwaynes.

Here's what they tell me about the difference between KR and PKR.

Same emulsion, same stock, same batch, all the same except ...

PKR is aged and shipped at its peak, intended to be refrigerated until use.

KR is intended to age to its peak in the field, the peak occurring something like 6-9 months after shipment.

That's what they tell me (the ubiquitous "they") anyway. 🙂
 
Just finished a 24 exp. roll of KR 64. I'll try to shoot one more this week and send them off the D's. I have a roll of KR 25 on the way, but I think I'll wait until spring to fire that one off.

Still not a lot of color around these parts, but at least I'll get an idea how to expose it. It's literally been nearly 30 years since I shot this stuff!
