Walking thru Wal-Mart today, I noticed some new {to this store anyway} rolls of Kodak 400uc {ultra color} professional film. I'm sure it's been out for awhile, I just don't remember seeing it. I almost passed it off as bw 400cn as the packaging is so close. Just wondering if any one has used it, and how did you like the results?

Yes, good results. I prefer the Fuji Superia 400, but the Kodak Ultracolor is very good too.

I use it almost exclusively along with Kodak 100UC. Extremely fine grain, nicely saturated colours, good skin tones.

Yup, great film. Though I'm not a big fan of Wal-Mart, the price for the 400UC three-pack there is far better than it is anywhere else. It's a fine grained film with very saturated colors. I have used this for several years without issues.

Kodak 400 UC is a great film. Lets see, you are NC during October...hmmm the fall season is coming on strong and that 400 UC would be great for hike in the woods with all the fall colors. That sounds so good right now!

For scanning I recommend not using any profiles for 400 UC and just going with the generic Kodak color film. You'll notice that when you work with the scans in Photoshop that the colors will pop and be very vibrant.

I like it and agree with the comments on this film. I also like Velvia and Superia too. But the UC is different and thats the reason I use it
