Kodak allegedly releases new Kodacolor 100 and 200

One thing that makes me think that Kodak is re-introducing old film rather than new film stocks is the that I've not seen anything mentioning that its a "T-GRAIN Emulsion". which I think any newly developed Kodak color film would have. Not saying that its bad that Kodak is re-introducing old film stock its a good think as long they are really bring back 2 additional film stocks rather than just rebranding 2 currently available film stocks.

The ColorPlus rolls looked like that for a long while now.
I buy it every now and then because it's my go-to test film for film cameras as it's often the cheapest option if Fuji 100 is out of stock.

I was about to say I'm pretty sure ColorPlus had those canisters back when I was picking it up for £1 a roll to test for light leaks in 2009.

I wish Kodak would offer a film stock that is not so warm. But I guess that we see so many minimally corrected Portra/ColorPlus shots that we may think that film should inherently look overly "warm." Imho, the old Superia X-Tra was a much better all-around, everyday film stock. Kodak films (including Fuji 200/400) can be a nightmare to home correct, if you are actually aiming for accurate colors.

Do you talk about RA4 wet printing, or scanning and digital post processing? I have not encountered any issue with Kodak Gold or Ultramax with scanning. I had no problem to get quite neutral colors.

I agree, but the simplification of marketing names has a certain positive appeal. If only Kodak would publish data sheets so we know what we are really dealing with...

Alaris doesn't make film. They only handle distribution and sales.

You're very likely right. Maybe he meant this was actually being *marketed* by Eastman Kodak. I can't even keep track anymore!
