Kodak Ektar 100 -- have you tried it?

Yaron, here are a few from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It is a colorful place, but this film really pops. Yaron, as I think I said, I shot these are 64.

Actually, they're kind of vivid and surreal, especially what you shot. That's harder to achieve with film than digital, at least until now, I guess. 🙂 BTW, I love the subtle different shades of yellow in the first one.

I've only shot one roll of it so far, but quite like it. In my experience it seems a bit more saturated in the reds than the other colors, but not so much that it's a problem. Here's a couple shots from Copenhagen at 100iso:

Yours are the only samples i've seen so far from this film that would make me want to shoot it. For some reason I'm just not liking the color that it's making (apart from yours - they exhibit the soft subtle yet deep colors I've come to love from film)

I tend to agree with Gavin ( fdigital ) I was given one roll to try, and probably won't buy any more - it's certainly fine grained but the colours are way over the top IMO, some I would describe as lurid!, but that's just my taste - you may like high saturation!. Looking back through my folders, it seems strange that some of my best colour pictures were with the cheap 200 print films - given as a 'freebie' at the D+P shop!. I think it would be interesting to see how the Ektar responds to an old uncoated lens, anyone been there?.

Uncoated lens? No, but tried it with a single coated lens - Nokton 40mm SC. Here are a couple of examples (please bear in mind that i'm not a scanning guru, the scans are mediocre at best).
I also find this film a bit over the top, especially used in bright environment. In subdued light I find the results much more acceptabe

(oops, the one with the red door is Industar-61 actually, the rest are Nokton).

I have got a roll in my Konica III - lens is single-coated, low contrast, low saturation. Looking forward to the results.

I ordered 5 rolls, and am waiting for an opportunity to try it out. Its pretty dark and dreary around here, so not ideal color photography weather!

WOW!!! That is awesome news. Time to drag out the old RB67 and slap in some Ektar. Guess I better start lifting weights again to prepare.....

I get the feeling that most of the images I'm seeing are the result of discount processing and scanning. I'd like to see some things that were scanned by someone in the group at home with a good scanner and the ability to tweak it to get the most out of it.

Mine have been colour-corrected and post-processed to the colour that I like. I used an Epson V700 to scan.
