I've just processed my first rols of Ektar 100 (in Tetenal C-41 chemicals) and the base colour is pink. Having never processed Kodak colour negs before I just wanted to check that this is ok before I go ahead and process the next 25 films - just got back from a week in Mexico!!

Cheers
Simon

I just processed mine last week using unicolor kit. My dried to a clear burnt orange-orange. I used a patterson tank and temp was @ 102-103 f.

It might be wise to send a roll (maybe even not one of the irreplaceable holiday ones, perhaps blank or some sort of camera/lens test) to somewhere doing a high volume of C41 processing by machine. Compare the results of your kit with that commercially processed one and either relax or dump the kit, depending on the result !

You have undoubtedly gone through this already, but consider also the age of the kit, how long since the concentrates were mixed, how they were stored (any air in the bottles?), how many rolls processed in it so far etc. etc.

I processed a few of rolls of Ektar with the Unicolor kit and I found I needed corrections in lightroom (the color tint slider) that I dont normally need with Portra or Superia. After the corrections this is the closest I could get to reality, which is not very close 😀

Ektar is a bizarre film, it needs a suitable subject (preferably red) and care in scanning.
