Kodak Elite Chrome Discontinued

I am Australian born and bred. In all my 65 years I have never ever heard the expression "storm in a coffee cup", but "storm in a tea cup" is quite common. It must be an American expression.

In german you would say "a storm in a cup of water" :)

Oh, dear.... This can now go in all sorts of directions. What's the difference between 'a storm in a cup of water' and 'a storm in a glass of Budweiser'? (Rhetorical question from someone who likes strong beer not made with rice, maize, etc.) I suppose the answer has something to do with polluting the water.

Seriously, I'd never heard the coffee-cup one either, though I do vaguely remember encountering the German version once.

Cheers,

R.

I've always used the expression, "Tempest in a tea cup", but I'm not Australian and I find that the very few people still use it.

As for Tri-X in 120, I ordered 25 rolls last month when Kodak's current condition became apparent, i.e. unable to borrow more money to sustain losses. Yep, it's a small hedge against big yellow going belly up.

I love Tri-X - but I lost faith in Kodak back in 2005 when the management team from HP killed their B/W photo paper.

My stash of TXP EI320 220 Film.

Where have you found Tri-X 320 in anything but 4x5 sheet film?

I stocked up on TXP220, right as it was being discontinued. I presently have forty fresh rolls in my freezer. I also have some HP5+ 220 in the freezer. This film was purchased on Ebay (from regular camera stores). Hunts Photographic had quite a bit at the time.

In 120 I prefer HP5+, so I can't say where one can currently find TXP120.

I never meant to stir up so much fear, aggression or malice with this post. I had hoped to inform fellow forum members of some changes Kodak was making to their line up. This post has really gotten out of hand.

I have changed the title of the post and added a link to a BJP article describing the changes. Please stop sending me angry messages.

Dear John,

Tea Top, surely.

Tashi delek.

I think you have out alliterated me Roger, but my mom's parents who raised me used a great number of sayings from your native country.

I hear some of your folks come over here to reclaim some of the lost ones in the more remote regions where some of the sayings persist unchanged for the past 300 + years. Lost lyrics from Professor Child's book as well.

My grandfather had a saying about bollocks and your aunt-- one of many I had to figure out.

I've never been a huge country music fan, but I've always felt Australian singer Beccy Cole's 2001 single "Storm in a D Cup" sounds infinitely more interesting, if less relevant...

Brett

I just went to the Kodak web site and for consumer film they list very little. But if I google a few more expressions I seem to get a Kodak site that has more offerings. Odd, isn't it?
