I managed to get my hands on 6 rolls of frozen HIE today (sorry none are for sale) and was wondering if they will work in my Retinas since they are bellows cameras or should I use them in my Leicas???

I've thought about bellows cameras too with HIE. I will tell you, you have be very careful with HIE. It really should be loaded in darkness. I know many people that have used M series Leicas with HIE.

I've used HIE several times in the past with both M-series and screw mount Leicas. It does take a bit of practice to get it right.

I've used Kodak HIE with folding Retinas and never had a problem. And the later Retinas (b/B and c/C models) have the added protection of a metal shroud over the bellows.

In the manual for the IIIC I recently sold, there was mention of using IR film. Not sure what film that would have been. So it ought to be possible.

Had I looked at the rewind knob I'd have seen infrared film listed so I guess it will work in the IIa..
