Kodak has less than a billion dollars in its cash balance after losing $222 million in the last quarter and needs to raise funds to survive. It wants to sell off patents.
Its printer sales are doing well, up 44% over last year. I was shopping for a new printer a few weeks ago in a big box electronics store and was surprised to see as many Kodak printers on display as Epsons, Brothers and HP's.
More here and here.
Much speculation in the linked articles about the company's future. Not much discussion of film, other than noting Kodak missed the boat on digital because it didn't want to cannibalize film sales. (Thereby allowing the competition to do that.)
