Kodak reports increasing sales of prof. film

From around 1 m 25 s into it: "We've had some people...try some digital and come on back to photography..." -- suggesting digital is not photography! OUCH!

Photography - film.
Digital Imaging - sensors.

In the greek sense of the Photography ("writing with light"), from a solely technical point of view, exposing film is indeed much much nearer to the greek origin than digital picture taking.
In Digital Imaging it is much more a "calculating" with light.
The french realised that in using the term "Numerique" instead of digital.

Maybe that is splitting hairs for most photographers, but there is some truth in it if you look close enough how film and sensors are working.

I would also discourage younger photographers to try film with all their negativity, because what I would really want them to do is to try film with all their enthusiasm. :D

Sorry for my bad English.
I meant that the doom and gloom sayers, with all the negative sentiment in their statements concerning the future of film, do indeed often discourage people who are interested in using film.

Cheers, Jan
