I picked up another IIIc off eBay with a bad cocking rack which I replaced with a new one from my spare parts but the meter reads 1 stop higher than my known accurate Weston meter.

Once I remove the top cover then a top cover on the meter to gain access to the 0 adjust should I adjust it to the short line next to the longer line on the meter scale??

G'day Colyn,

Unlike the IIIC and later cameras, this meter doesn't have a zero adjustment on the end of the housing, and that probably won't get you where you want to go. You can get the meter adjusted better to match your Weston by changing the value of the series resistor. I suggest using a resistance substitution wheel in place of the existing resistor, adjust until values match in bright conditions, and then install a new resistor of matching value.
Regards, Chris

I should have also said that another way of adjusting the meter response down is to put a bit of neutral density filter between selenium cell and the window.
