Kodak Signet 35 shutter repair

After reading a previous thread on these camera, I got out my grandfather's old Signet 35 and discovered that the shutter does not close. The material on the pheugo.com web site has a good description of the shutter escapement but does not tell me what to do if the shutter is stuck open. Where can I get more details about how to repair this part of the shutter?

The site you linked to is actually pretty good. Read the service manual he links to, but you shouldn't need to go that far. Once the faceplate and cam are off, start to clean with a tiny brush and tiny little bits of lighter fluid. More than a little bit of lighter fluid can cause crud and grit to run where it shouldn't be and cause more problems. I bet you can get it to free up, then lubricate as detailed in the manual.
