Kodak Stock Dives After Credit Line Is Tapped

Thanks for the links. Note that the first one is missing the last letter - the "y" - so doesn't work!

Seasonal cashflow variations are one thing, but . . . Maybe eventually Stephen can buy Kodak film division? (Only joking folks).

Looks like the Kodak execs are preparing to send the company bankrupt and cash in.

Execs don't care, they just want the huge payday. The employees, shareholders and customers suffer but the executives light a big cigar, pop open the champagne and watch the money fall from the sky.

Hopefully Tri-X lives on after a caring concern buys the skeletal bones of Kodak in a garage sale.

I suspect someone will still make film. I mean, you can buy 127 film, people are trying to make Polaroid film again and the technology isn't exactly advanced or secret.

FWIW, I think Neopan 400 works better than the modern Tri-X.

when Kodachrome was discontinued, Internet-knowledge was that machines, chemistry etc. was so difficult/expensive that nobody could step-in, and continue making smaller quantities. hope its not the same story with TriX.

Now we're talking - especially those of us who do not pay US taxes. 😀

GE a DOW component had a record year of profits, paid no taxes, and recieved a $270 billion dollar tax credit.

There's a lot of not paying taxes in the U.S.

The rich have an expression: Nobody ever got rich by paying taxes.

Where's my bailout?

Leica should really think about buying a film business. They'd probably charge ten quid a roll, but they need to keep the M7,MP and their repair business viable.

Wouldn't it be funny if profits from digital ended up subsidising film production, in a reversal of fortunes?

Yes, perhaps we should all buy a little Kodak stock now to help out?
Their film business still makes money.
In the meantime, I am going to buy some more Ektar 100.
