Komura 35/2.8 - Summitar's little wide angle cousin?

As I have said before, - Summitar is my favorite and only Leica lens (well at least from the ones I have had and tried). But at times I would like to have a wider lens, yet one with a similar signature.
Well, having tried several different lenses, I keep coming back to my LTM Komura 35/2.8.:

This table used to be on RFF in a thread I started but since the thread went dormant I killed it and transferred the table to my website. At least it shows you some data on all those Komura and related lenses.

Flickr is the best place to look for lens examples. There's a few threads on here as well that have sample shots. The Komura's and siblings are quite sharp, but not very fast. Unless you run into the 1.8/36mm in which case you are a lucky dog 😀 since it is rare as hens teeth. Only saw two examples online in 7 years time, both on RFF!

That 35mm Komura lens produces very Petzval looking OOF areas in the photos.
The 58mm Helios 44-2 lens does the same thing.

I have this very lens (35mm 2,8) and got it for a song..... I feel its one of my all time bargans and I also love the signature.... of course my favorite Leica lens is also a Summitar.

I´m waiting for the 35/2.8 to arrive next week. My other 35 is a Summicron v4. I will see how both compare.

I also have that lens now and I like it.
It has a slight front focus on my M8, though. All other lenses focus precisely.
Can I do anything to fix that?

It should be fixable by a capable lens service tech, they will probably need your camera too so that can match the lens to it.
