Hi!

Can anyone point me to a Koni Omega Rapid instruction manual that is freely available on the internet? I just got my camera, but am rather afraid to try out anything without first having read the manual; somehow this monster doesn't seem to be as intutive as a Rolleiflex...

Best regards,
- Debasish.

Debasish,
Try here:
http://www.butkus.org/chinon/rapid_omega_100-200/rapid_omega_100-200.htm
If you back track a bit, there are other Omega manuals there if that one isn't the correct one.

Wow! Thanks a lot Rob. I've been searching for quite a while on the internet, without a clue. Thanks a ton!!!

Mr. Butkus' site is one of my long time resources. Any time I (or any one else)need a manual that's the first place I look or suggest.
I keep a small paper notebook with my most important bookmarks written down--in case my PC dies--and that is the first or second one in there.
Glad to have helped!
Looking forward to some pictures from the Omega!

Hmm... I'll have his site bookmarked. I just completed a 120 roll; there seems to be problems with the shutter, doesn't fire when I intend, but each time after some nudges on the lens lock it does... I'm wondering if I should send it back. In any case, let me develop the film and see what's the stuff made of.

Best regards,

Sounds the body isn't making proper contact with the shutter firing mechanism on the lenses. Try taking the lens off and putting it back on, failing that the problem is either the lenses or the camera, most likely the lenses.

If you think you want to have it serviced, visit Greg Weber

http://www.webercamera.com/

He serviced the shutter on my 1965-ish K-O and it's spot-on now, strong and decisive.

You gotta remember these cameras are close to 40 years old, and the K-Os saw a lot of use in their day, especially as wedding cameras. They got quite a workout.

I wouldn't know any manuals for free, but manuals2go.com is pretty near. I got my Koni manual (and quite a few others) for just a couple of $$. You can choose between paper, CD or download.

Hi, You may have already found one or bought one online - I have been looking for a KO Rapid manual for over a year without success. I bought one online for the KO Rapid 100 for about 15 Dollars because, except for a back plate or something te manual for both are supposed to be the same.

Today, I found a PDF copy, free to download, here:

http://www.butkus.org/chinon/koni-omega/koni-omega_rapid/koni-omega_rapid.htm

It is strange, I have searched this site before but going from the Homepage, this site does not have KO Rapid listed. I googled and the link came up which takes one directly to the page wher the PDF copy can be found.
