Dear all.

I have an old Konica Auto S2, it belonged to my Grandad and is pretty much mint condition. I have run a couple of films through it and I love the results.

Just one problem, the film jams about half way through, it starts to wind round the the advance spool, the smaller one with the teeth. Sorry this is probably not the correct termonology.

I wonder if anyone knows of a fix or whether I'm just doing something wrong.

It has a sticker on the body saying 'new loading system', I wonder whether it's just a temprimental system!?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Andy,
I have moved the thread to a more appropriate forum. Can you post a pic of a "jammed" film and it might help to dignaose whats happening.

Kim

Thanks.

That's bizarre. Well, not that the roll is f* up, wind it back leaving a tongue. Then put it back on the spool the way you usually do. Then keep the back open and just keep shooting until you notice the thing doing that weird thing. Keep on doing it till it happens. Can't tell you how to fix it (help Gman!), but at least you can figure out the problem.

Thanks all.

Eric, done that. It winds round as normal and then the film becomes lose around the spool not leaving enough room (when closed) to get the rest of the film round, so starts to take it back under the other way. Does that make any sense?

Thanks again, really appreciate this.

I have had that happen to me when the film end comes loose from the take-up spool.

The end of the film may not be locked into the take-up spool correctly, or the spool may be damaged and is not gripping properly.

So I guess it's the spool that is damaged in some way. I mean, it looks fine, but it does this jam thing.

I have loaded and re-loaded many time now and it happens 99% of the time.

I'm quite upset at this, maybe I'll just check the manual to see if it says anything about it.

Kim, do you have a password for the S2 manual please?

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your input.
