Hello !

We have a Konica Auto S3 with stucked and closed shutter blades. It is also continuously winding without to press the shutter release button. We have searched and tried a solution for sticky blades through cleaning the blades with a solvent from the front. It has not worked. Can it be really sticky blades or a problem deeper in the camera related to the shutter release system ? A bright idea before we dismount the whole camera would be much appreciated 🙏.

We will gladly give complementary pictures if needed.

Hopefully,

The Auto S3 is not an easy camera to work on. It sounds like you need to examine the winding mechanism and take apart the shutter.
Getting to the shutter is the hardest part as you need to access it by taking it off the body and taking the back and front apart.
I have taken this camera partially apart but not the entire shutter ... and it was painful just doing that.

Many of these cameras have the advance clutch under the bottom plate. You might try looking there first. I've not taken an S3 apart, so I am going on mechanisms in general.
This is my Minolta Hi-Matic 9, the mechanism required flood cleaning and a little bit of oil.
The bottom plate is easy to remove, watch out for springs for the rewind button. Advance the lever, look for the mechanism sticking. You might get lucky.
