I have a Konica s2 Auto and no matter what I do the meter stays on showing readings with the lens cap on, I even sat the lens face down on the table and it still will not go off. The battery must be removed to conserve.
Anyone know a cure for this problem?
All I can think of is the wiring is the problem since the camera manually operates just fine

Did you try switching the camera from auto to manual? I would also try cleaning the battery compartment well and look for corrosion across contacts (it's usually the blue wire), along w/ maybe a tiny squirt of lighter fluid onto the shutter button gap where it goes into the camera. Make sure your battery ck button is not stuck too. These cameras have known meter issues, usually relating to wiring or bad contacts.

I have been rebuilding these models for years and never seen one act like this. That is why I ask before tearing into it and hoping someone else had this problem. Tomorrow I should find out what the problem is and I will post my results.
Thank you for your response today
