Konica C35 - Any stories?

Jody, those are some beautiful shots, it's sharp and definitely got that "classic"-look because of the color tone. I haven't picked up a Wein battery yet, so I can't take mine for a spin 🙁

Oh... I can't wait anymore. Plus I need to verify if this camera is not a dud, I borrowed one of the A76 from my XA-2, pop a Fuji Superia 400 and hop on my bike for a shoot around the neighborhood. With low expectation, I finished the roll and eagerly waited for the Sam's club minilab to do their developing and scanning. Finally, the results are not too bad for a battery with wrong voltage and kinda stuck ASA dial (I think this camera needs a CLA).
Here are one shot that is presentable, I think it's a bit overexposed (what do you guys think?)

Quite fascinating,all this. Early in the year I got a black C35 off the 'Bay mainly to get the X-14 flash that came with it to use with my Auto S3. Didn't work out: the flash doesn't work for some mysterious reason I've yet to suss out (a newer version of the flash that I got – also off That Aucion Site, works just fine). The C35 is cosmetically near-mint, and the meter appears to function, but the shutter is sticky and clearly needs a CLA. But the Auto S3 needs it's meter needle "unstuck" from a tumble the camera took a little while back (camera appears to meter just fine otherwise), as well as get new door seals, so it gets top priority. Any repair guys out here want a C35 (with that non-working X-14) as a small partial payment toward fixing my S3?

P. S. Thankfully, Konica did not make auxiliary WA/tele attachments for any of their better compacts. I say "thankfully" because of my memories of using the ones Yashica included in my Electro 35 GTN outfit from way, way back. The horror...

Alas, even with the zinc-air battery (Walgreen brand 1.4V), the pictures are still overexposed, but when I tweak the picture using the Curve, it came out beautiful!! (see attached pictures).
Hmm what a dilemma... I'm definitely sold on the quality of pictures that this camera can produce, but this particular sample is a bit 'wonky' to borrow from my British friends.
I think the culprit is the ASA dial, even though it says 400 right now (which is the speed of the film), I don't really know if thet's what it really is at.
It's a bit hard to turn (weird design in the first place, IMHO), and at one time, while hunting for ASA 400, I got the numbers to appears inside the Cds meter window!! (180 degrees from where they should be). Has anybody seen this problem with C35?
I have a feeling that I'm sending back this particular sample to the seller and continue my quest for a good C35.

You guys would never believed this!
Upon receiving the camera back from me (and refunded my money), the seller promptly get the camera looked at by a camera repairman and he not only replaced the crumbling seal, but also fixed the stuck ASA dial and re-glued the number panel that was floating freely.
He re-listed the camera on eBoy and I had since put it in the back of my mind and went on my search for a good KC35. Towards the end of the auction, just for kicks, I offered a lower BIN price than even before and secretly hoping that no-one beats me.
The next day after the auction finishes, my offer expired and I gave up hope. Then later on in the afternoon the seller emailed me asking if I still want the camera, he'd send it to me free and clear... for the same price as before. Needless to say I took the offer!
So basically I got the same camera back cleaned, lubricated (up to the point that the ASA dials rotates too easily for me) and hopefully adjusted as well.
Eagerly I took it early the next morning to a local computer flea-market, here's one picture:

Crumbling seals aside, I bought mine new in South America in 1971 (I think). I traveled all over SA with it. Dropped it (many times), had it in rain and jungles, It still works great even without the seals. I will take it to Mexico in January, and shoot Tri-X @ 200. That is something you can not do easily with other cameras (DX).

Wohoo! more KC35 (what I name mine) siblings in action.
micromoogman: Nice pictures, very good tonality and detail.
I've never run a b&w film on little KC, partly because I'm running out of expired Ilford XP2 (cheap from eBoy and wonderful quality), so the last remaining rolls are used on the Oly 35 SPn for Christmas celebration photos.
But here's one from my latest roll (yes, the HD is a beauty and no, it's not mine 🙂 ):

Hello!
I Just bought two Konica C35 on sweish tradera (ebay), they are surprisingly small. I discovered that the
lightseals were bad, on both cameras. Since i have a kit from John Goodman, i started to re-seal the cameras.
I dont think it is a overstatement to say that this is the far most complicated camera to re-seal, that i have ever tried. I hope i get them right, will test them tomorrow.
