Hello
To Konica C35 automatic users: can you please confirm if

1) The Guide Number ring is useful only when a flash is used

2) Without flash the camera is fully automatic and there is no way to control the aperture or the shutter speed (apart from changing the film speed values)

I am grateful if someone can clarify these points for me

Thank you

Joao

The guide number could be used for sunny 16 if you know what the default shutter speed is. Otherwise, yes and yes.

Yes, you are correct on both counts.

In case you are interested, Weber Camera offers a modification for the C35 that adjusts the voltage to the light meter, allowing for an accurate light meter reading using current batteries.

Thank you for the reassuring answers, the manuals I found are not so clear on these points.

newst, that is an interesting option but perhaps not so useful in this camera considering that I am not able to change shutterspeed or aperture. I would have a more precise information about the speed/aperture, but nothing more.

Best regards

Joao

Hi:
You can go around shutter speed/aperture by under/overexposing, depending on your desired effect, by pointing camera at light or shadow and then lock your reading, by depressing half way down your shutter button. Recompose and take your picture, and voila', les juex son fait.
Hope this helps,
Giorgio
