Konica C35 Lens Issue?

Hello guys 🙂 I am new to the forum and was hoping to get some info on this camera that I just picked up. I brought this camera to a camera shop where I live to pick up a lens cap and upon the technician installing the lens cap, he said that my lens isn't straight and I just noticed that it does slant significantly. Is this normal and if not, how would I go about rectifying this issue? (I am comfortable with taking apart rangefinders as I have performed minor work and maintenance on these kinds of camera's so I am willing to try. Otherwise the camera is in full working condition thankfully 🙂

Well that's just wrong...

Is it just the ring that the filter screws into? Or is it the entire lens assembly?
Offhand- it looks like someone disassembled it and did not screw it on straight to the barrel.

It seems like the entire lens assembly is tilted. The only thing aligned is the lower portion nearer to the body, the one with the focus ring and the GN flash selector/bulb mode.

I don;t think you have much to lose by taking it apart and trying to determine if it is misassembled or damaged.

Thank you so much, I disassembled the lens and found that the silver ring had a bent bracket so it would seat deeper than flush when screwed in, the other two brackets were fine. I countered this issue by simply not using the bent bracket, instead screwing the screw under the bracket to act as a washer to lift the ring up so that it would be flush with the other two brackets secured as per normal. To ensure it would be secure, I made sure the nameplate securing ring was tight. It is now flush 🙂

I had a Minolta Hi-Matic E with the same problem, only the fix was a bit more intense. Had to do a complete disassemble to straighten out all the bent parts, and then after I got it back together I found out the battery circuit was bad, and had to go back in and fix that. I've seen quite a few of these compact rangefinders that have collapsed lenses, and figure it must be the lack of area for the owners to get a good grip on them. Nice that yours was a simpler fix.
