I have just acquired a second C35 A. I took the battery out of my C35 V (which I know works) and put it in the C35A. The problem is the needle reaction is may too high, completely off the dial at 400ASA (overcast day) and measuring F11 at ASA 25 on an overcast day.

Is this a common problem?. It's no great loss if the camera is trashed, but if there is an easy fix I'll give it a go.

If not I'll trash it as I know Greyhoundman is looking for bits off this cam.

Cheers

No no,not a good memory, I just did a search. Although I do have an execllent long term memory and poor short term memory. So I'm in constant de ja vu!!

I'll have a look around in there, but you may recall to had to take a hammer to a QL19 recently, which was not a happy ending either party. Slightly terminal one might say.

I missed the hammer bit.
Why pray tell, did you beat it with a hammer? 🙂

Ralf probably won't remember why, unless it happened a long time ago 🙂

"Beating" sounds kind on harsh terminology. Percussion Therapy I'll accept. It was to unscrew the front element. It took several blows of significant force to unloosen it, causing the metal to split. It was ugly, like a car crash.

Once it loosened and unscrewed I spent a week flushing the apeture blades with lighter fluid. The lighter fluid cost me more than the camera, so I gave up. Rest assured, there was no abuse involved, simply a matter of using the right tool for the job🙂

Thanks for your advice on the C35, I'll five it a try.
