Received an FT-1 Pro Half today from Japan; Greg Weber told me that they are extremely rare, maybe a few dozen made. Anyone else use one of these?
I will say that it is completely wild to have a motorized SLR that shoots half frame only. It is rather fun to have a tryptich finder where you can see what is left and right of the framed shot. But why did the half frame thing persist for so long over there? My other recent fave is the Canon Sure Shot Multi Tele half frame - which is also surprisingly late in the half-frame game.

Never knew they existed. I wonder how it performs.

nice find!
Thanks... The added bonus was finding an FT-1 that still works.

I would have to think that unless the frame spacing mechanism is messed up that it would perform like a normal FT-1, which would be quite well. When you build a half frame camera behind 24x36 lenses, you are working with an oversized lens circle and the best part of the sharpness of the lens.
I just wish I could remember how to shut down the self-timer.

I have the Canon Multi Tele, and it's a lot of fun. If you get the dorky accessory lens you end up with a point and shoot with 4 different focal length and half frame to boot. And image quality is fine for a P&S. Enjoy!Received an FT-1 Pro Half today from Japan; Greg Weber told me that they are extremely rare, maybe a few dozen made. Anyone else use one of these?
