Konica Hexanon 21mm-35mm DUAL

Member: AusDLK has one. Maybe PM him, Keith, and/or check out his gallery. I'm a Hex completist. I'd like to get my hands on one at some point, too. 🙂

Absolutely not. It is a dual-range (or dual-focal-length..."dual-range" can have a second connotation in RF circles, particularly Leica) lens, with discrete focal lengths of 21mm and 35mm. Even Erwin Puts has lavished praise on this lens, and I regret passing up one opportunity to possess it when I had most of the money together for one. But, I am patient...it will happen when it happens.

Yes, I have one.

It is beautifully made. The perfect lens for the R-D1. 2/3 of a Leica Tri-Elmar when on the R-D1. With finder it's a nice companion on any film camera.

It's a rather large lens in comparison with standard 35mm lenses but actually not that much bigger then the Leica 21mm Elmarit it replaced.

Paid $900 for the lens, hood, finder, and all original parts about four months ago.

I haven't taken many exposures with it yet but I have no reason to expect anything less than stellar images from it.

I successfully bid for one of these lenses on eBay just before Christmas (a Hexar RF body was also included). When the parcel arrives in the UK I'll be putting the lens on my R-D1 and I'll try to post a few results in due course.
