Konica Hexar AF - Changing the ISO for DX-Coded film in P mode. Possible?

I know you can change the ISO in A mode, but is it possible to override the DX code of a film cartridge in P mode? Say I put in a roll of Tri-X 400. Could I set the ISO to 1600? Is modifying the DX code on the film the only way, other than shooting in A or M?

Are you sure the ISO you set under A mode does not also apply to the P mode? I always thought you set ISO in A mode because there's not enough buttons on top of the camera to do this another way.

Sure! First, tape the DX code over or scratch it beyond recognition. Load the film in the camera next.

Then, switch your camera to A mode and press the Select button for more than 1 second. Adjust the ISO value with the Up or Down button. The camera will use this ISO value for all next films until you load an DX-coded film or remove the battery.

I always set it in A mode and changes apply across the board.

Ah! Perfect, I didn't realize that it applies across the board. I'll do some testing to confirm this, and at worst, hack up the DX code on my film (I usually roll my own anyway, so this isn't a huge problem). Thanks, all!
