Konica Hexar AF startup lag

After more than 2 years in the closet (camera was raped in bug included silica gel tubs, and didn’t
startup at all), my Hexar startup time, takes about 4 second. Is this sound to you like a normal thing?

Is the LCD blank for the 4 seconds?
Does the start up time vary or is it consistent?

If the answer to those is yes, I may have some bad news for you, it may be a something within the electronics, (I forget the exact details, I'll check my old emails though). I had a black Hexar, and it started lagging on start up, sadly it proved fatal in the end.

I'm hoping the answer is no, and a fresh battery and some exercise will get it going again

No, the screen doesn’t blank. In the meantime, the delay as be decrees
by 2 seconds. I have a new set of batteries, but those are outdated…
But the situation doesn't surprised me. A year ago, the camera didn’t
even want to start at all. As I remember, I was use to play beck & forth
with the battery, in the battery chamber, and from time to time I had a
success to waken the camera. So, I left the Hexar (very old black model
0022xxx) in the closets for one more year, and to be precise; I didn't
care about here anymore…
