The tri-elmar is a practical and easy way to carry more than one focal lenght around, however on the RD-1 it becomes a bit too long for my taste, the Konica Hexar dual 21-35 seems a better choice.
Is the lens any good?
Is it possible to find one at a decent price? (I tried the eboy with no luck)

Thanks

It would be nice to find a testmade with the RD-1, we know that some very good lenses have a lackustre performance on the RD-1 while some mediocre lenses seem to perform very well.

Bur maybe I am asking too much.

I own a Hexar 21/35 Dual and I think it's a good lens but not a great lens. The prime lens line up for the Hexars is excellent and each prime is a great performer. I don't think the dual quite lives up to the others.

A company in Germany seems to have had a bunch of them NIB, selling for around $1000 - $1100 on EBay (at least, when I bought it). I use it on my R-D1 as my "daylight tourist lens". The last 2 shots on my blog under "Pt Reyes" are from the 21-35. I'll have to see what the rolls from the film shots look like, but on the R-D1, I'm reasonably happy with it.

You can see some funky chromatic stuff when I shot directly into the sun.

Rd-1 and hexanon 21-35

Here are some shots. Mostly at 21mm on the RD-1.
