Konica Hexar RF - Help it might be a problem

Hi guys..i got my Hexar a month ago and i just devolped my first rolls of films,not sure what's going on but,it looks like,not sure how to describe but,on each frame there is some kind of half-circle or so,it's a part of negative,and it shows on contact prints also,this can be a problem when u make enlargments..not sure if u understand me 🙂 maybe this is normal? Does anybody know anything about this? I do not have a scanner that i can show you,but i'm gonna try to take a picture and post it here,one more time this might be normal? thanks..

It's normal. Same as the Hasselblad-triangles.

It doesn't make any problem when enlarging or scanning. It's only a reminder which camera you took the pictures with - I was reading somewhere.

Enjoy your Hexar RF - I only sold mine last week to re-finance the M8, otherwise I definitely would have kept it.

You're talking about the little notch at the edge of the frame, right? It's right there in the film gate. This is something that Konica seemed to do with most if not all of its cameras, for the very reason Uwe cites. I just got an old (ca. 1971) Konica Autoreflex A -- their bottom of the line SLR back then, but a very well made and capable camera -- and it too has a notch in the film gate. A very cool and unusual stock feature by Konica.

This was a common practice when using cut film holder or interchangeable backs to notch each one slightly different so if a problem developed you could tell which one. I had a Konica Hexar from when they first came out until I recently sold it and I never noticed the mark!

Thank you guys,that's right little notch a mark at the edge of each frame..mark is there for sure..🙂 I like the camera a lot..is this going to be noticeable when i do enlargments a full frame?

Same notch here. Enlargements crop out the notch, unless you want the negative sprocket holes to show, and then who cares?

Unmistakable Hexar's countersignature - no matter of concern during enlargement.
Half-dot RF's signature, triangle-spire AF' signature.
Very useful in contact prints recognition.

If you think that's cool, the Koni-Omega backs had a slider where you could show one to six (I think) dots outside the frame, at the top, that would indicate which back you shot with.

Ditto the comment about Konica always having notches on 35mm cameras - at least since the Autoreflex T. Even my AA35 point and shoot half frame had the notches.
