Does any body have experience of the quality of the top and bottom plate finish quality on the Hexar RF Limited (the camera that comes with the 50/1.2)?

The paint or coating on the standard black Hexar RF seems to chip off quite easily - is the titanium coloured finish any more durable?

Thanks,

Simon.

My titanium Hexar RF has some flaking from the top plate. I think it is covered in some kind of clear coat (transparant with a slight hue). I do not have any black Hexar RF (which is baked paint) to compare with.

The chipping on the Titanium is not that apparant though unless you look at it more closely, as the hue difference is not anything that what black paint tend to reveal underneath.

Thanks for your reply Håkan.

So, am I correct in understanding that on the Hexar RF Limited the colour that is visible is the colour of the actual titanium metal of the top- and bottom-plates, underneath a clear top coating?

Thanks,

Simon.

From my memory, that is how it looks. It could be interesting to compare the finish to a black one with flaking, but I do not have access to any to compare with...
