Had been trying to find a Konica I. Anticipate delivery this week of this collapsible Hexanon lensed RF. Voigtlander Vitomatic should arrive today. Has color skopar 2.8 and nice case.

Hope to get some photos of these up if I can borrow my daughters D70s.

Stop the GAS!

Which lens did you get? 2.8 or 3.5? I have my father's Konica I f:3.5 that he bought in Japan in 1950 or thereabouts. I used it for one roll of film recently. I liked the results. I need to use it more often. Just out of curiosity, what is a Konica I selling for these days?

Hello Wayne,

The lens appears to be a 2.8 Hexanon in the photos, although I found the auction with only 30 minutes to go, so I can't confirm that. I had been bidding on Konica I's and they seemed to be selling in the 50.00 to 60.00 dollar range and I kept getting sniped. Anyway I "won" this one for $18.25 plus shipping, no case or lens cap as far as I know. I figured I wouldn't be out much if it is a dud. The seller did indicate the shutter was working, so we will see what the mail man brings.

I really like the design, looks compact, collapsible lens, good build quality from what I have read. I will keep you posted.

A deal!

A deal!

Steve,

If it all works, you got a deal. Even if it needs a complete overhaul, it's still not a bad deal. Sometimes ebay works for the buyer. ;)

The leaf shutter is a dream! Leica users don't know how loud their shutters are unless they have used a leaf shutter lens. :D The Konica I is also the multiple exposure king! Even if you only thought you advanced the film! :bang: I have the original user's manual if you have any questions.

Dad only used Kodachrome in the Konica I. After I treat the camera to a CLA to make sure the shutter speeds are accurate, I will do the same.

A sample on Agfa 400 film.

Cheers!

Wayne

I paid a lot more than that for mine, several years ago, though it did come with an intact case and strap, and original cap. A simple but beautifully made camera, with an excellent lens. Mine needed lens work (apparently the result of botched repair along the way) but the shutter was in perfect shape, as was the rangefinder. The somewhat tricky thing to get used to is tripping the shutter -- the shutter lever is on the lens. A light touch is called for so as to not cause shake.

I like that picture, Wayne. I know all about multiple exposures, I learned about that with my Yashica C TLR. I will probably need info. from the owners manual if the camera doesn't need an overhaul first. I am trying not to get my hopes up too high.

Nick, thanks for the encouragement. I like the simple cameras, my cameras with on board meters sometimes seem too high tech for me. I am looking forward to using it.
