I'm trying to date my Konica III, the serial number is 131150. I've done the obvious search on "Konica III serial numbers" and couldn't find anything useful. Anyone know the range of serial #s assigned to this camera, or a secret site that might have some info on serial #s and dates?

Thanks

The serial numbers on Konica cameras can't be used to determine time of production. Instead, Konica placed a foil sticker on the camera (usually called the SAKURA sticker), usually inside the film door, with a two-digit production code embossed on it. The first digit, a number, stands for the year of production. The second, a letter, stands for a month during that year. I am not sure whether the Konica III has such a sticker, as it was made in the id-1950s, but most Konica cameras going back to the early 1960s do.
