I was interested in purchasing this Konica IIIA which seems in a rather good functional condition apart from the rangefinder window which is broken. My question is whether this is indispensable for the rangefinder to function properly and how easy would it be to replace (maybe cannibalizing another non IIIA)?

On some cameras, that is actually an optical lens. Being all cracked like that will make it hard to focus, and you stand a chance that a small piece will come off, and get stuck who knows where on your face, or in your eye.

The shock of however that got broken may have also caused some collateral damage to the rangefinder that won't be obvious until you fix the view port.
