I started in photography by shooting team and other yearbook photos with a K-O. I also processed and printed the film in our little school darkroom in the library. Amazing results for a first-timer - looking back, it ruined me for 35mm... Use it in good health! :>)

So many people seem to have the same feelings for the Koni as I do, I was fortunate enough to borrow one from a tutor for a day when I was a student, and since then I've always lusted after one. The problem is in the UK at least they are a kind of imported exotica so sourcing a good one is tricky at best...

But fingers crossed, mine should arrive in a few days so will try and post some pics of it when it gets here...

I won and received a Koni-Omega Rapid a few weeks ago and love the photos this baby produces! One one hand, it's wonderful to be able to see fine details on a negative without magnification...on the other hand, with only 10 shots per roll you really have to be careful when you take a picture.

For some reason 'LA County Fair Main Drag' looks like it could have been made 50 years ago -- interesting!.

Big negs are a joy. Transparencies even more so. If you really want to have the 'every press of the shutter is significant' feeling, try shooting 4x5 or 8x10. 😉

Darn sure is. I need to see if I can get that to work on a Mamiya Press 6x7 back. I don't know why, but it just seems clever.

two issues I can see with this system:
1- framing. I think a solution would be to hack a sports finder.
2- Maintaining film flatness. this one seems tough to me. Maybe you need to advance the film only just before the shot.

Of course there is the question of hauling such a beast to get a panoramic 35mm...

Printing: you obviously need a 6x7 enlarger
scanning: the manual framing on an epson should do the trick.
I have no idea about dedicated 35mm scanners, but the problem shouldn't be that different from scanning xpan negs. I am sure this can be googled.

That looks super cool 🙂 My new Koni came with a 220 back that I was wondering what to do with, Now I know!

Heres another question for all you Koni fans out there, does anyone know of a good cable release that fits the holding clamp on the grip?
I have been searching for a koni one, but thus far in vane, any other options would be gratefully received.

So, Here she is...

So, Here she is...

Well I finally got round to taking a picture of my new Koni

I have the body, 90mm lens 2 x 120 backs 1 x 220 backs, sports finder, grip, 2 x original eyepiece, 2 x original Koni straps and lastly a Rollei Strobonar, about the best fully working period flash I could get my hands on.

Am going away in about 10 days, and cant wait to put her through her paces.

Just get out there and use it! You'll be amazed!
I had 2 of them with several backs, the wide and the 90mm lens.
Sold one with the wide lens here about a month ago. Just don't seem to get the time for them anymore. So again - get out and shoot the heck out of it.
