Kristine

Well, as a guy I would say: lovely creature.

But your pics don't work for me, koven.
I don't like your plastic-like colors, I hate the flash shadow and this sock trace is a absolute, absolute, absolute no-go in my eyes :D

On the other hand, after 25 years of professional photography I would not recognize art even if it bites me, I fear...
so go on and don't care about me... ;)

thanks for the feedback, I just looked at a few of your photos and ya we have a totally different style.

Koven:

I was unaware of your ethnicity when I posted my reply. Had I been, I might have used a different tack to express my dislike of your pictures and their implications. I therefor apologise for any offence I have caused you in that regard.

However, I stand by all my other criticisms.

Everyone is a critic and gets a say.

I suppose i should just post more photos like this

as a Woman and a Photogrpher I did NOT have any problems with 'koven's / James
photos
nor do I judge the model Kristine for posing and obviously Enjoying her moment in the Spotlight....
what are we Objecting to...an Attractive Woman with Tatoos... or too scantily clad,
here on RFF I have seen far more photos showing more skin and nudity than the work James posted

Where do we come up with the 'Race' card...how is this brought into play ? (**Those Posts Suddemnly deleted by the provacateurs**)
and finally the 'Sexist ' card ....

The photos were tasteful and had a Youthful artsy Edge
and I find it in rather poor taste that many a man here on Rff
judged James & kristine

As a moderator here on RFF i would like to ask James to repost the Photos
Enough vulgar bickering and Judgements unless they are constructive from a photography POV

(I too loved the B&W shot !)

Well said maam! :)

It would be wrong for me to criticise a moderator's decision but I am surprised by your view on this.

May I ask where the limits actually lie as regarding content of this kind? I am confused by how this decision fits with...

Rule No. 4 - No "Offensive" Posts, Links or Images
4) You will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, or otherwise violative of any local or international laws. This includes links in your signature, profile, bookmarks as well as posted images, photos and avatars. Staff will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not.

...although I do, of course, understand the last sentence.

Sejanus:
The Model was not nude
(we do have our 'nude' section in the Gallery)

What offended you re: the Photos
her tatoos, her legs, arms, abit of ckevage, the playful banter of a Young Woman

This is Life...life in motion
If you don't like the photos turn your Eyes, click on another Thread and Move on....

Why must you constantly Push your point of view and a Righteous perspective on All of us

As for asking James to repost...Why Not and I repeat there was nothing Offensive to the photos
Kindly let The Photos speak for themselves and the RFF community View them
Why should James be bullied by You and one or two others...

Nothing at all wrong with the photos, well maybe the flash was a bit harsh ... and I don't have a problem with nudity or think they were exploitative and would also like to see them reposted ...

... however I do wonder what prompts already attractive, and in this case apparently confident young people to come to the conclusion they can be improved by the addition of a drawing

Oh dear, I'm sorry I come across like that. I'm no better than anyone else. Indeed, I fall well into Hamlet's comment: "If you pay everyone what they deserve, would anyone ever escape a whipping?"

My objection to those pictures is that they commodify a person, make her appear something less than a human. My wife's comment was that they are crass. I am sure that many viewers would share that opinion.

I have no right to censor another person's work but surely I should use the opportunity afforded by this forum to break the silence when something seems wrong to me? John Stuart Mills said that "Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing".

Do you really feel that I should "look on and do nothing"?

The whole tattoo question is a real can of worms IMO. In my work I'm surrounded by people with them and don't mind them at all.

On a young female they seem to attract a different viewpoint to what they do on males ... which I don't get at all?

Well James, I missed the original postings here, but the discussion was so intriguing I went to your flikr stream and website. (There's nothing better than negative publicity, is there :) !! )

FWIW, I really enjoy much of your work. Very edgy stuff, even though (to my opinion) some cross over from edgy to, let's call it, "careless" ? - don't ask me to elaborate, I could not).

Keep that edge sharp !!

PS. My wife has some (small) tattoos. I think they're kinky.
