Hello members, I own a Minolta XD-11 and a Canon 50mm rangefinder lens in LTM M39. Has anyone used an adapter to fit this type of combo? Will this work? I love the character of the Canon 50 ltm for B&W and it would be great to put it to use on my xd11. Thanks!

Sorry, it will not focus anywhere close to infinity. The distance from the flange of the screw mount to the focal plane is aroind 29.5mm antd the minolta lenses, to clear the moving mirror are about 40mm many peoplepeople adapt them to nex7 or gh2 etc

Well that's a bummer. I just found an adapter for this combo on ebay from a Chinese seller. Won't be ordering based on this info. Thank you for the response.

Those adapters were originally used for attaching SLR's to things like microscopes and telescopes that had M39 threads. So all is not lost. Just find an old professional microscope, and have some micro fun.
