Thanks everyone. I had a homemade bamboo hiking staff with rubber crutch tips on both ends. It helped a lot with the big Pentax.

Add some pictures, Y'all!

Wayne, I'm having my 6x7 cla's right now. It needed it badly. I can't wait to get a workout with mine, I mean a physical workout. If you carry an extra lens you are into serious hiking.

Thanks.

Wayne, like your photo... Sharp contrasts, and the diagonal angle formed by the nearer slope adds a dynamic element in an otherwise static arrangement. And I'm visually relating the white spots of rock to the white puffs of cloud.:)

Here's one clearly above the treeline, with rocks, bit of snow, but not much sky or visible clouds. Made earlier this week with a small Pentax and a lens matching the 61-deg angle of view of my favorite 75mm SMCP AL for 67.

Doug,

Thanks! I miss the west. We spent 5 years at Fairchild, AFB before I was old enough to travel on my own. I need to get back out there.
