can anyone recommend anywhere to get LF shutters serviced in Aus? i had a Prontor Press shutter servied in March, but have hardly used it since then (since April actually) and now the shutter is sluggish at 1, 1/2 and 1/4 second speeds. ugh

Have not used them yet, but just bought a lens (in Compur #2 shutter) that is said to have been serviced by Mainline Photographics in Sydney. Works OK. I plan to send them another lens that is sticky on the slow speeds.

hi Chris, yeah that was my lens
.
I had Mainline service that and this Prontor shutter, but the Prontor (a self-cocking press shutter) just was never that good, and now it's really struggling. i think that it might be the type of shutter it is and it just may be on its last legs
i don't know.
i was going to see if i could find someone else to send this one too, to see how it comes back. in the end, i'll probably just send it to Mainline again. good price and fast turn-around.

Doh! :bang:
I have another lens in a Seiko shutter, that is supposedly quite difficult to service. I think I'll send that one to Carol Flotot in the USA - she has a good reputation for doing very good work at a good price.
Have made a couple of test exposures with the 360 - my Ebony RW45 has just enough bellows extension for it at infinity to middle distances.
