Well-known
Well, the 5D is around 4 years old now, so if you are comparing it to current APS-C sensor bodies I am not surprised it isn't blowing you away. Technology advances, across all formats.

I don't know what the original 5D has, maybe pixie dust, but I have a current 5D MkII and a 50D, but the 5D Mk 1 is still the camera I use as my primary camera. The 5D MkII's video capability, though, is great when shooting for print and the web at the same event.
But most DSLR's made in the last several years will do anything most of us want to do with a camera.

As it happens, my most familiar point of comparison is the entirely contemporaneous 30D, as that's the digital I've taken most photographs with, and so the one I'm most familiar with. (I have a newer 50D, but haven't used it nearly as much - yet. Its a somewhat different beastie, and I'm still working out how best to get along with it.)Well, the 5D is around 4 years old now, so if you are comparing it to current APS-C sensor bodies I am not surprised it isn't blowing you away. I think July 7 is Samsung's big announcement date.

But the important thing is I really can't see Samsung approaching the quality of dedicated lenses from Olympus and Panasonic (who have Leica behind the designs) in a new APS-C based format.
Samsung have a partnership with Schneider since 1995, owned Rollei from 1995 to 1999, and have connections with Pentax (even though they now seem to have enough self-confidence to think they can forge ahead with their own lens designs). Not exactly chopped liver...
I didn't know Kodak is Japanese
Kodak is toast, mostly...
