Last pictures with Bessa-R

Markus, that's a beautiful tribute to an old "friend".

You have a very good set of photographer's eyes,
Your R-D1 photos should be just as good as these.

Thanks for sharing.

With these results, I have to ask why? Do you think the RD-1 will improve your vision. Keep posting, I want to see how your photography improves. These are fantastic!!!

Good work, I enjoyed your gallery. You should do fine with the RD-1. You have a good eye!

Thank you for your comments!

Although I have only photographed a couple of years, I don’t have any illusions that any gear would improve my vision. It’s all about convenience and GAS. In fact most of my photographs could have been taken with any point and shoot. But they wouldn’t have because point and shoot isn’t fun to use and I take a lot more pictures with a camera I enjoy using and is convenient. I’m bored with developing film, scanning and removing dust spots in post processing although I do prefer ‘the look’ of film to digital. I still continue using film with other cameras.

Here is couple of shots from a recent walk about with R-D1 if you are interested:

Almost all of my blog post pictures from the past couple of weeks are also taken with R-D1.

I recently sold my Bessa-R among couple of other cameras in order to fund the Epson R-D1. These are the last pictures with the Bessa and they kind of make me miss it. It sure was a nice camera.

I have a question... what lens did you use for the following images:

The wildflower

The bus shot

The bicycle

You have some really nice photos, btw!

You mentioned that you have only been photographing for a few years... So my question is, for someone who is interested in getting their photos published as well... do you have any tips, ideas, or suggestions?

I only had Nokton 50mm and Ultron 35mm when I had my Bessa so they are all shot with those. I can’t recall exactly which photo is with which lens.

About getting photos published I can only say couple of things as I’m not an expert on the subject. This is what I do: I take a lot of pictures and I have some camera with me all the time. I’m active on internet forums and photographic communities and a member in a local photography club. I have gotten some of my photos in to exhibitions through this group. I send pictures to magazines, internet publications and contests. Maybe if you are talented and lucky enough they will contact you instead of you being active but that hasn’t happen to me yet.
